First Things First
Congratulations for taking this course, wanting to improve your writing. The ol' saying, "practice makes perfect" is true in that practice will certainly improve your craft. Perfection, however, will not be our goal, but certainly quality writing that we are proud of--this will be what we consider "perfect." So, to start you thinking about your own writing, answer the following 3 questions.1. What do you want to improve with your writing? Using good spelling and grammar, respond considering:
* choosing a topic
* generating information on a topic
* finding relevant information
* introductions
* conclusions
* thesis statments
* citing primary and secondary sources
* sentence variation
* vivid language
* organization
* revision
2. What type of writing do you like to write? Why?
3. What career are thinking about in your future? What types of writing do you expect to do in your profession?
